FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENTS
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will conduct a comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)to evaluate and understand the purpose behind specific behaviors. This process includes direct observation, data collection, analysis of behavioral patterns, and professional recommendations. The primary goal of the FBA is to identify the underlying function of the behavior. In most cases, the FBA is followed by the development of a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), which outlines effective strategies to address and support positive behavior change.

Behavior Intervention Plans
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will develop a personalized Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) based on the results of a prior Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). The BIP outlines evidence-based strategies designed to reduce challenging behaviors and promote more appropriate, replacement behaviors. Plans are tailored to meet the individual’s needs and can be implemented in a variety of settings, including home, school, or across multiple environments.

School & Related Service Provider Collaboration
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will collaborate with school staff, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers to identify the individual’s challenging behaviors and provide function-based intervention strategies. The BCBA will also explain how teaching appropriate replacement behaviors occurs alongside efforts to reduce problematic behaviors, ensuring a comprehensive and cohesive support plan. The BCBA may attend IEP or 504 Plan meetings to collaborate with the educational team and advocate for the student's behavioral and support needs.

1:1 ABA therapy
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work one-on-one with the child to focus on teaching skills that are essential for success and independence in the home, school, and community. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy also addresses and reduces severe problem behaviors that may pose risks to health and safety or limit access to educational, residential, or vocational opportunities. ABA is an evidence-based approach that can be effectively used with individuals of all ages across a wide range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and others.

1:1 Social Skills
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work one-on-one with the child to learn and practice essential social and communication skills. Using evidence-based strategies rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), participants work on skills such as initiating conversations, taking turns, understanding social cues, managing emotions, and building friendships.

Parent Coaching
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work one-on-one with parents and caregivers to provide guidance on both preventative and responsive strategies for managing challenging behaviors. Through parent coaching, the BCBA will model and teach how to implement effective techniques for promoting functional alternative behaviors. This collaborative approach supports consistency across environments and ensures the generalization and long-term success of newly learned skills.
